Bentham is a small market town, with a population of just over 3000,
situated in the Craven district on the western edge of North Yorkshire.

Two settlements make up "Bentham", Low Bentham and High Bentham.

From our Railway station we have direct links to Leeds to the East or Carnforth to the west, should you feel in need of a brief encounter.

Bentham is ideally situated as a base for visiting the Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland, and the Lake District national parks.

For visitor information please see our Tourist information point site.

This site is primarily Town Council business and information, which we try to keep up to date,

We post the agenda and the minutes of our meetings, together with a quarterly newsletter.

The link to the Archived minutes will take you to a page of older minutes in pdf form which are available to download.

Previous years are available as a self extracting zip file, simply download to a folder on your computer and it will open for you.

The members of the town council are listed together with their contact details, a sort of rogues gallery.

At the top of the page we have links to our Town Hall website, Craven DC and Yorkshire County Council sites.

Our Tourist Information website has a list of the coffee mornings and Farmers Markets being held in the town hall, together with an accommodation list, which will be updated for the 2010 season, very soon.

On the right hand side there is a section called recently published,

This is a short cut to the obvious.
